Mark James Elkins, age 48 of Delton, passed away unexpectedly on May 11, 2023. He was born on November 21, 1974 in Plainwell to James and Loretta (Risner) Elkins. Mark was a hard-working jack-of-all-trades. He was most recently employed in the maintenance department at Clark Retirement Community. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing and mushrooming, and enjoyed working on cars – especially his 1972 Chevy. He was a Michigan football fan, and in his younger years he loved watching NASCAR. Mark was a good family man who enjoyed spending time with his kids and extended family. He liked to participate in the yearly Charlton Park Father’s Day Car Show. 27 years ago, Mark married his childhood sweetheart, Stacy, and they were together for a total of 30 years. He is survived by his loving wife; children: Maesen (Makayla Shuck) Elkins, Ashley (Mark Sherman) Elkins, Emily Elkins; parents: James and Loretta Elkins; very close siblings: Jenny (Steve) Lamb, Kristie (Cameron) Tuinstra, Josh Elkins; mother-in-law, Debbie Walley; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Alan Walley. Relatives and friends may meet with Mark’s family on Monday, May 15 from 1 to 2 P.M. at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home where a funeral service will take place at 2:00 P.M. Pastors Mike Risner, Jim Hall, and Rich Sheldon officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery.
