John Steven Holtman, age 63 of Delton, passed away on February 20, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. John was born on February 2, 1960 in Kalamazoo to John Jr. and Darla (Cowling) Holtman. He owned and operated J & A Rockers LLC from 1990 until his death. He also worked at the James River Corporation for five years and was the cemetery sexton for the City of Kalamazoo. John was a self-described workaholic and always enjoyed keeping busy. He loved being hands-on and could work on anything. He was a kind man with a great sense of humor and a grand imagination. John was very loyal, caring and never met a stranger. He loved cooking, hanging out near his home and going to the lake. Most important to John was his family. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 ½ years, Debbie (Hatfield) Holtman; children: Ashley (Matt) Bilyk, Justin Holtman, Krista Vandenberg; grandchildren: Cody, Anika, Reese; siblings: Scott (Trish) Holtman, Patty (Tom) Reid, Angela (Joel) Pierce; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Relatives and friends may meet with John’s family on Thursday, February 23 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home. A funeral service for John will be held on Friday, February 24 at 11:00 A.M. at Revive Bible Church in Delton with Pastor Bernard Blair officiating. Burial will take place at Brown Cemetery in Orangeville Township. Memorial contributions to Centrica Care Navigators or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will be appreciated.
