Stocker, Susan “Sue”

On the morning of Saturday, March 27, 2021, Susan “Sue” Stocker (Fawcett), loving wife, mother of three and grandmother of nine, passed away at the age of 74.

Sue was born on April 12, 1947 in Newark, NJ to Hugh and Margaret (Hageman) Fawcett. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ralph Stocker; her 3 sons Marc (Sara), Brad (Jamie), and Ralph (Janet); and her nine grandchildren.

From Haslett, MI to Panama, Sue was always able to make a quick friend wherever she went (something that came in useful as a military wife) and she kept in touch with friends and family no matter how far apart they moved. Sue enjoyed spending summers at the family cottage on Basset Lake in Middleville, making great memories of swimming, fishing, playing games and enjoying each other’s company. She was a Michigan State Spartan fan through and through - even saying “Go Green Go White” right near the end. Her family takes comfort in the fact that she is likely sitting at the beach in heaven and already digging in to an endless supply of clams on the half shell and garlic bologna.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Friends of Veterans Memorial, PO Box 451, Middleville, MI.

A memorial service will be planned for August 5, 2021 from 2:00-6:00 PM at the Lakeside Pavilion at Bay Pointe Inn. Please visit to leave a condolence message or share a memory for Sue’s family.

Ralph, Brad and Marc, I am so sorry to hear of this. Sending thoughts and prayers to you all. I remember your mom, as always being caring to the neighbor kids. May she rest peacefully and you all find comfort during this difficult time.

We will miss you Sue! I always enjoyed our get togethers. You always made me laugh. You were a wonderful mother to your boys and encouraged them in their life choices. I am comforted to know that you are now at peace and out of pain. You were well loved.
