Jo Helen Marble, age 86 of Freeport, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2021, and is now dancing with the angels. Jo Helen was born on June 12, 1934 in Dallas, TX to William and Ethel (Patterson) Manning. Jo Helen proudly worked at the Mid-Villa Inn in Middleville for an amazing 49 years. She held almost every job imaginable from bartender to office manager. She loved to stay active by working and most recently spent five years at Meijer. Jo Helen was an accomplished dancer and was a part of the Senior Steppers in Grand Rapids for over 12 years. She performed with the group at many festivals throughout the years. Jo Helen loved the Lord and loved her church, Thornapple Valley Church of Middleville where she was a member, and deeply believed in the power of prayer. Jo Helen enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino, and was always hoping to win the big prize on scratch off lottery tickets. She was very outgoing and loved people, especially her children and grandchildren. Surviving Jo Helen are her children: Jim (Nancy) Marble, Gary (Wendy) Marble, Rebecca (Wayne) Hayes, Jack Marble, Chuck (Janet) Marble, Roger (Julie) Marble; 22 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Jo Helen was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings. Friends and relatives may meet with the family on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Beeler-Gores Funeral Home in Middleville. A private funeral service will be held and burial will take place at Freeport Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Senior Steppers or Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary.
