Obituary

SHARP, Virgil O.
Middleville

Virgil Oscar Sharp, age 82 of Middleville, passed away peacefully at Spectrum Health Butterworth on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. Virgil was born on May 2, 1938 in Grant, MI to Byron and Elsie (Leslie) Sharp. Virgil moved to Middleville in the 1960’s to work on a chicken farm before spending many years at Tool Industries. He finished his career at Lescoa/Meridian, working as a press operator for almost 30 years. Gardening and raising chickens took up most of Virgil’s time after retirement, but he always had time for his family, friends, and traveling. He and his wife Sandra were longtime members of Yankee Springs Bible Church in Middleville. Virgil was known as a hard worker and could always make something out of nothing. Virgil is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sandra Sharp; children: Randy (Dawn) Sharp, Connie Zaidel, and Patrick; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters: Vivian (Junior) Williams, Stella Wagoner. He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Jack and Odetta Hull; and several siblings. Virgil’s family will receive friends on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Yankee Springs Bible Church where his funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, February 6, at 1:00 PM. Covid-19 restrictions will be in place. Burial will take place in Yankee Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions to a charity of one’s choice will be appreciated. Sandy, Randy, and Connie: so sorry to hear of Virgil's passing. It is hard to lose someone so special. It was always so fun to hear of the adventures that Keith and Virgil would talk about when Virgil and Sandy would visit. Keith was there waiting to welcome him across that Jordan river. My sincere sympathy's to the family.

Where do i begin? We made so many memories its hard to pick just one... You taught me so many things.. You alway made sure i had the things i needed and taught me to work hard for the things i wanted.. Im sure as a kid i gave you many headaches but you still were there for me anytime i needed you.. You took me on the snowmobile.. You took me skiing.. You took me bowling.. You took me fishing.. As time passed you helped me turn a barn into a house and when i got married it bacame a home.. You became a amazing grandpa.. I know my cancer was hard for you to witness but i made it thru.. It was hard for me to see you in pain.. I know your in a better place now.. Pain free and hanging out with your family and friends watching over us from above... I'll make sure mom is ok.. Don't worry... Rest in peace dad... I LOVE YOU

Virgil was a great father-in law to me. He welcomed my 4 children into his family. He shared birthdays and holidays with us, always present for the important events. He took the boys fishing. He spent endless hours with Brianna on trips, vacations, fishing, farming, gardening, cleaning, making tents, doing bon fires, and I'm sure tons of other things. He taught me many things too and helped me along the way. We shared a garden in the spring, even though he did most of the work, rototilling meticiously between each row twice a week. He raised a son who now knows how to be a good father and husband by watching him all these years. I will always appreciate everything he have done for me and our family. We love you. Rest in peace Virgil...until we meet again.
