Cribley, Lona J.

Lona Jane Cribley, age 80 of Nashville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, January 25, 2021. Lona was born on May 2, 1940 in Kalamazoo, MI to Roy and Eleanor (Sines) Garrison. Lona worked for many years at the Frankfort Hospital. She proudly owned and operated Lady Jane’s Antiques and Curio in Benzonia for over ten years. Lona enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, gardening, mushroom hunting, and bowling. She never left the house without making sure she had her red lipstick on, or as she called it “putting on her face”. Lona loved animals of all kinds, especially her cats and dogs. Most of all Lona loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, whom she cared for deeply. She will be missed by her children: Juliana Orban, Anthony (Cindy Lou) Gibson, Eugene (Tamera) Gibson, Donald Gibson; 22 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; siblings: Rita Bates, Judy Drenten; many nieces and nephews. Lona was preceded in death by her husband, William Cribley; parents; and brother, James Garrison. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Spectrum Hospice or Barry County Humane Society. Please visit to share a memory or to leave a condolence message for Lona's family.

My Mom was a women who lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed people. When she was at the rehab center I remember it was hard to find her in her room. She was out making friends and memories. My Mom taught me many things. She was a great cook and loved her pets. She would tell me what a great cook I was but she was a good teacher. Her two little doggies were always at her side. She loved to garden and she would can veg from her garden in Benzonia. A part of me is missing and my life will never be the same without her. I remember one memory that made her laugh and laugh at me. I was trying to wallpaper her kitchen. I had to move her stove to wallpaper back there. But I got stuck and was hanging off the stove. She laughed and me and said I reminded her of Carole Burnett . Who she said we were related to.
R.I.P. MOM. till I see you in Heaven.
