Branch, David A.

David Allen Branch, age 79 of Delton, left us in the arms of the angels on December 25, 2020. David was born on October 8, 1941 in Kalamazoo to Frank and Joan (Wagner) Branch. He was a very ambitious and hardworking person that enjoyed staying busy. Dave started working at the age of 14, he would leave work on Sunday morning to ring the church bells in the Richland Square before returning to work. He worked at Gibson Guitar for 20 years before working at Upjohn Co. for over 20 years. Dave worked for the past 15 years in the security industry. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, joining the service at the age of 17. He worked as a radioman 1st class on the USS Shadwell in the Mediterranean. Dave was an active member of the VFW Post 422 and the Moose Lodge 1649 in Delton for many years. His other interests included playing fast pitch softball until he was 48, fishing, golfing, and master gardening. Dave was a lifelong bowler, both as an amateur and professional. He helped build the Richland Lanes where he worked part time teaching peewee bowlers for years. Dave ran Branch Ranch Labradors for many years, providing animals to the Delton community. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill (Jill) Branch; brother-in-law Jim Buckhout; and infant son Eric David Branch. I have too many memories to list! All were great! I spent alot of time with the whole family at their home and ours and also at Richland lanes! I remember going to their house and he would be sitting in his chair snacking on his peanuts! He was a great man with a great family and he will be missed! Thinking of you all.. In loving memory of David Branch.

Dave, Karen and his family made a Big impact in my life!!!! ❤ Prayers and Love go out to all of them 🙏❤

Although it's been years since I've seen them, I've always carried them in my heart.....

Dave had my father, as a 5th grade teacher, while attending Richland Elementary in the early 50's.

Dave mentored me during my early years of bowling, and would also pick me up Monday afternoon's to watch Stan Speaker, Dave Majescki, Jack Hawthorne, Joe Santek and He bowl in the Pla-Mor Major League in Kalamazoo. He loved to compete with the Best, in all he did.
Dave was very proud of the GAZETTE Bowling Article which mentioned his top 691 league series at Pla-Mor.

He was a great "Role Model," Teammate & friend.

This news has hit hard 😢😞🎳

Rest in peace my Dear Friend 👼
