Obituary

Stanton, Darwin H.
Delton

Darwin Howard Stanton, age 55 of Delton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 5, 2020. Darwin was born on November 30, 1965 in Kalamazoo to Norman and Arlene Stanton. As a child, Darwin was a true farm kid and was involved in both FFA and 4H. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1984 where he was on the wrestling team. Darwin was a faithful employee at BJ Hydraulics for over 20 years working as a Hydrostatic Technician. He and his family are longtime members of Cedar Creek Bible Church. In his free time, Darwin had a laid-back personality and enjoyed hunting and camping with his family and dogs on the custom bus that he made. His true passion was collecting and repairing old antique clocks. Darwin was very proud of his children and their accomplishments, such as his son attending the University of Michigan and receiving many scholarships. Darwin will be missed by his loving wife, Doreen (Boulter) Stanton; children, Slater Stanton, Glorianna Stanton; parents, Norman and Arlene Stanton; siblings, Phyllis (Jim) Dipp, Gordon (Deb) Stanton, Bernard (Donah) Stanton, John (DeAnna) Stanton, Maxine (Tom) Henney; several nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives may meet with the family on Thursday, December 10 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Cedar Creek Bible Church, where his funeral service will be conducted on Friday, December 11 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Robert Norton and Pastor Ethan Holmes will officiate. Private family burial will take place at Banfield Cemetery. I am so sorry to hear of Darwin's passing. Always so kind and sweet. He always helped carry my mom's and my stuff up to our rooms at Dairy Days! Peace and comfort to all the family! Blessings, Lisa Smith Coe

Doreen and Family,

Sorry to hear about Darwin. He was a good man.
I had the pleasure of meeting him when I would bring Ma (Ruth) Blood to Pattie and Glenn Richardson's
for her 6 month visits to Delton.
Prayers and Hugs.
Ruthie Elliott (Pattie's sister)

How very sad we were when Larry called to say that Darwin had passed away. I enjoyed stopping in to see John at BJ and visiting with Darwin, I would bring an extra pop, diet, and an extra candy bar for Darwin. I would get my Eggs from Darwin and he was real interested in my experiment I told him about, water glassing. John misses Darwin very much, and has shed many tears, their room at BJ is very lonely now. Jesse our son also works at BJ and got to know Darwin as well, had a pop waiting for him in the frig Darwin and John got set up in their room. Darwin was a truly nice person, and he will truly be missed by our family and so many others. With deepest sympathy, Maria Overbeek

My cousin Darwin was the most gentle, loving, kind-hearted, sensitive, caring, compassionate man I’ve ever met. He was my favorite cousin and I will forever cherish the fond memories of being in his presence. I am certain that he was the best husband and best father that a man can be. It is peaceful now that he is going home, but his quiet effective leadership in the community will be forever missed. His beautiful wife Doreen is strong and will carry on with the help of friends and family. Doreen and their loving children, Slater and Glorianna, will surely serve as a legacy to the everlasting love that Darwin Howard Stanton bestowed upon this world.
Sincerely, Michael James Holt
