Nancy Marie Henriksson, age 62 of Middleville, passed away surrounded by her loving family on August 13, 2020 at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital. Nancy was born on September 30, 1957 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Harold and Kathleen (Schmutzer) Black. Nancy was a loyal employee of Steelcase and Velocity USA where her attention to detail was unequaled and her friendly spirit was highly appreciated. She was very active in the cycling community and, with 6246 miles, held the female record for most miles in the National 24-hour Bike Challenge in Middleville. She also was proud to have cycled five times across the United States. In addition to cycling, Nancy enjoyed jogging and running marathons, including a fifty-mile ultra-marathon and hiking the Grand Canyon. Nancy loved all kinds of animals; she took in many shelter animals and her home was recognized as a bird sanctuary. Most of all, Nancy will be remembered for her good spirit, goofy sense of humor, her incredible skill in the kitchen and her loyalty and love for her many friends and family who will miss her greatly. Nancy is survived by her husband, Mikael Henriksson; son, Jason Minier; siblings: Michael Black, Thomas (Diana) Black, Barbara (Steve Elder) Black; sister in law: Linda Black; and several nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Black. A gathering of family and friends will be conducted Sunday, August 30, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Beeler-Gores Funeral Home.
