Carpenter, Carrol

Carrol Howard Carpenter, age 71 of Delton passed away on June 16, 2020 at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital. Carrol was born on September 23, 1948 in Marshall, the son of John and Eldora (Granger) Carpenter. Carrol was a dairy farmer for twenty years before founding Carpenter Gravel in 1987 and owning the business for thirty years until his retirement. Carrol had a passion for fishing. He enjoyed hosting community fish fries and donated time and fish to many projects. He was known as the brain of Delton by many in the community, he loved tinkering and helping others. Carrol enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years, making many friends along the way. Carrol is survived by his significant other: Cora Christle; children: Todd (Heidi) Carpenter, Troy (Suzi) Carpenter, and Tammy (Stan Jr.) Norris; his children’s mother: Brenda Moore; step children: Angela (Bill) Chappell, Joni Fuller, and Rickie Gates; grandchildren: Audrey, Cassie, Troy, Brandon, Kevin, Shelby, Kegan, Brady, and Jakson; great granddaughter: Lorreta; brothers: John (Barb) Carpenter and David (Beth) Carpenter; several nieces and nephews; his dog: Colby; and many friends. Carrol was preceded in death by his parents; son: Travis Carpenter; and brother: Don Carpenter. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in Banfield Cemetery. Jerry and I are so very sorry to hear of Carrol's passing. One of the nicest guys I have had the pleasure of knowing.
Very good to us when we were building our home and doing the landscaping. I could call up and know we would have what we needed to work with by the afternoon. Jerry and I are sending our condolences to the entire family and friends. Rest in Peace Carol, you will not be forgot.
