Robert L. Denny, age 83 of Battle Creek, passed away on June 3, 2020. Bob was born on January 18, 1937 in Hastings, the son of Floyd and Dorothy (Loveland) Denny. On May 12, 1972, in Delton, Bob married the love of his life: Vivian (France) Denny, she preceded him in death on February 6, 2016. A veteran, Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army, he was a life member of VFW Post 422 in Delton and American Legion Post 484 in Hickory Corners. Had a variety of jobs throughout his life including Heartland Nursing Home, Clark Equipment, E.W. Bliss, and FlexFab. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed watching NASCAR, drinking coffee with friends at Speed’s Coffee Shop, deer hunting, riding motorcycles, and the outdoors. Bob lived by his motto that he was never wrong, just mistaken. He was a jack of all trades and an especially great woodworker. Most of all, Bob loved his family and grandchildren. He always looked forward to having dinner with his sisters on the first Wednesday of each month. Bob always lived life to the fullest and his last day was his best day. Bob is survived by children: Scott (Terry) Denny, Neil Keck, Kevin (Sharon) Keck, Susan (Jim) Enz, and Jill (Thomas) VanderMel; 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; sisters: Joyce Boulter and Kathryn DeWitt; several nieces and nephews; and his spoiled pup: Little Bit. Bob was also preceded in death by his parents; and seven siblings. Bob’s family will receive friends on Saturday, June 6, 2020, 11:00 to 1:00 PM at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home. In accordance with the executive order, please practice social distancing and no more than 10 people will be allowed in the building at one time. A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, June 6, 2020, 2:00 PM at Banfield Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post 45.
