Obituary

Joy Headie VanderWoude, age 50 passed away at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital on Memorial Day, May 25, 2020. Joy was born on July 16th, 1969 in Chicago, the daughter of Wilbert Calvin and Mariwyn Gladyce (Bonner) Streeter. Joy was a graduate of Howe Military School. She worked with her father and brother in their medical office for a number of years. Joy loved the outdoors and had an affinity for camping with her family. She was fanatical about all things Disney and Disney World. When she was not outdoors, she could be found at home sewing, crocheting, and crafting. Joy loved to travel, go antiquing, and hiking to beautiful places. She is survived by her parents, brothers and sisters (Calvin Streeter, Rich Streeter, Chari Wenger, Nathan Streeter, Becky Heather, Mike Streeter, and Jim Streeter), husband (Keith VanderWoude), children (Chelsea, Alisha, Juztyn, and Bradly), and her grandchildren (Deacon, Savannah, Mikelah, Tukker, and Sowyer). Joy’s visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2020, 3-6pm at Williams-Gores Funeral Home in Delton, Michigan. A private service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2020 at 11am and will be streamed live from the Williams-Gores Funeral Home website. The service will be available on the website if you miss the live stream. Please visit www.williamsgoresfuneral.com to share a memory or to leave a condolence message for Joy’s family.

Dear family, wishing we could be with you at this very special time. I grew up with Joy’s dad, the Schearer farm was about a 1/2 mile from the Streeter farm. I remember meeting this little cute, full of energy, red head, when was just a young girl. Always had a smile and a twinkle in her eyes. Little did I dream that I would be her pastor out in Great Falls, Montana. Joy and Keith and family live here for a short time, and we enjoyed them so much. My boys were about Joy’s age and we had many good times together. She would always bring out the fun in anything we did.
God bless her sweet and precious memory.
Love, Cousin Sheldon Schearer

I just viewed the streamed services. The pastor made us smile with tears in our eyes. God's grace and the light of His love is wonderful power to guide through grieving and confusion. Thank you for sharing the funeral through streaming. My prayers and heart is with each of the large family. The Snow family grieves with you. Some of my children grew up with some of these Streeter children. So the Snow family, Brenda, Ernie Sonja, Gale, Christi, Abe, Matthew, Justus, Joanna, Joseph and Mary shares your mourning. However, the joy of reunion in heaven will surpass the loss here. God is with you. May His light give you peace. Mrs. Leah Snow
