Nancy Schutte age 74 of Delton, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 9, 2020. She passed away at Borgess Hospital after a courageous battle with stage 4 kidney failure and multiple heart conditions.
Nancy was born to Clyde and Mina (Gorton) Munger on February 18, 1946 in Kalamazoo and lived in Delton most of her life. She graduated from Delton Kellogg High School in 1964 and then attended Grand Rapids School of The Bible and Music. She married Edwin Larry Schutte and they had one son, Eric D. Schutte. Nancy held a few jobs but her longest was at Ricketts/Hotra Pharmacy in Delton. She worked there for over 25 years where she met many wonderful people and friends and always greeted them with a smile.
Nancy enjoyed watching many sports including NASCAR racing, football, baseball and basketball. Her favorite teams included the Detroit Lions and Tigers. She was also a Michigan State Spartans fan, although she also rooted for Michigan when they weren’t playing State. Nancy loved to make candy and treats during the holidays for family and friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Larry; son and daughter-in-law: Eric and Donna (Gunn) Schutte; and two grandkids: Brent and Brianna Schutte. Surviving are her two grandchildren: Cameron and Clay Schutte of Delton; several nieces, nephews, and many extended family members.
Nancy’s ashes will be placed in a family plot at Hickory Corners Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Williams-Gores Funeral Home for funeral expenses would be appreciated due to the family’s lack of work because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
