Dorothy Lenona Burton, age 74 of Delton, passed away on March 8, 2020. Dorothy was born on March 3, 1946 in Middleville, the daughter of Chester and Lillian (Johnson) Bromley. On March 22, 1965 she married her soulmate, Danny Burton, who preceded her in death on August 14, 2009. Dorothy and Danny loved family get-togethers, except on Sundays - that was their day to be together. Dorothy had a big heart and was passionate about helping people, making things for them, and comforting them by listening to their problems and giving advice. She loved flower gardening, fishing, and traveling. The family took many trips to Mississippi, Florida, and West Virginia, always taking along bologna sandwiches. Dorothy also enjoyed cooking, especially chicken and dumplings and homemade noodles. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She and Danny would put up lots of lights, more and more every year to compete with the neighbors. In her later years she often disappeared from her family who found out she was sneaking off and visit her neighbor, sometimes to plant flowers. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Lenona (David) Baker; son, Daniel Burton (Geili Endsley); 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; sisters in law, Sharon Bromley, Tammy Burton; best friends, Vivian Gates and Char “Granny”; several nieces and nephews; and lots of grandkids (biological or not). Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Beatrice Bromley, Joyce Moored, Ruby Manning, Frosty Bromley, Donald Bromley, Anna Bromley, and Della Bromley. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the needs of the family.
