Lawrence Douglas Drewyor Jr. passed away on December 15, 2019 at Wings Home. Lon was born on November 24, 1942 in Plainwell, the son of Lawrence Sr. and Marie (Burkhead) Drewyor. On January 6, 1962 Lon married the love of his life, Pauline Sparks who survives. Lon was active in the Orangeville community as an “original resident” and member of the House of Prayer. A veteran, Lon proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for five years. Lon was employed by Plainwell Paper for many years, he also owned a chainsaw shop and timber business. Lon's true passion was buying and selling horses, which he did for many years. Lon enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, riding Harleys, and working on old cars and hot rods. He also loved music, especially bluegrass and country, playing the bass and drums. Lon is survived by his wife of fifty eight years: Pauline Drewyor; sons: Scott (Shelly) Drewyor, Larry (Tammy) Drewyor, and Craig (Kelsey) Drewyor; daughters: Angie (Tim) Hall and Betty Jo (Andy) Berg; twenty grandchildren; many great grandchildren; brothers: Florian (Jan) Drewyor and Steve (Jane) Drewyor; sister: Kathy (Al) Schwennesen; and several nieces and nephews. Lon was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Gilbert Drewyor; sister: Harriot Teskey; grandson: Cody Berg; and great grandson: Caleb Duley. Lon’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Pentecostal Church of Christ where his funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM.
