Diana L. McDaniel

She was a little bit country and a little bit rock-n-roll. Diana was born April 22, 1948 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Marvin and Kathryn (Thatcher) Francisco. On July 23, 2019 Diana gave up her courageous battle with cancer. She was strong in living and death. She enjoyed playing the drums and singing with the bands “Pay Dirt” and later, “The Bandits.” She was a devoted horse woman. Topping that was her love of family. Daughter: Jackie (Ralph) Elliott, granddaughters: Paige Elliott, Jennifer (Brandon) Geerligs, Angela (Barry) Cooper; great grandchildren: Maison McDaniel, Danielle Fields, and Hailee Pickford; Sister: Sharon (Gary) Metheny; nephew: Shawn (Lorraine) Metheny; nieces: Kimberly (Forrest) Bagley and Shannon Metheny. Making sure her family was full - she was always cooking. All family and friends will miss her. A special thank you to Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence in Battle Creek, you all were amazing! Diana’s family will receive friends on Saturday, July 27, 2019, 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home, where her funeral service will be conducted at Noon, Pastor Steve Olmstead officiating. Burial will take place in Dowling Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Barry County Humane Society will be appreciated. My name is Linda Cheney Taylor I live @ Pleasant Lake were Diana once lived in fact I bought the house that was the horse barn they owned. Diana would take me for horse rides (Ginger was her horse) and later I got my first horse and we would go to horse shows and riding behind Pleasant lake were no houses were down the dirt roads and Yankee springs 4-H etc... Jackie was very small at the time I don't know if she remembers me the band was Paydirt and Diana played the drums. It was a great part of my childhood she was such a nice lady (long hair) I really missed her when I moved away and she did also. I now live @ 5060 N. Shore Dr. on Pleasant Lake I am back but much older. So sorry for your loss she was a wonderful woman.

We were friends many years ago---rode together on horses, and I used to go hear them play and sing. Hadn't seen much of her over the years, but have many fond memories. My condolences to the family. Jackie, you lived in Yankee Springs when I knew you, and had a mastiff dog. Blessings to you all.

I am so very sorry to hear of Diana's passing. We were both very young when we first met. I was amazed at her musical talent. Always a sweet gal. Condolences to the family and friends.
