Obituary

Alysha Darlene (Taylor) Kissinger passed unexpectedly from this life to the next on Saturday, July 20, 2019 due to a blood clot. She was born March 28, 1980 in Chatham, Ontario, moving to Michigan with her husband, Jon, in 2009.

Alysha was a stay at home mom who loved raising her children. She often told comical and poignant stories of her real-life adventures in motherhood. She spoke life into her home with words of encouragement, humor, love and kindness. Warm memories of her loving influence will remain in our hearts. She was a Christ follower, and loved the way Jesus loved through a compassionate embrace of all people.

She is survived by her loving husband of thirteen years, Jonathan, her remarkable children, Micah, 10, Noah 8, Eden 4, and Ezra 2. Also surviving are her parents: Glenn and Wendy Taylor of Windsor, Canada; her brother: Brent Taylor; her parents-in-law: Carol Brundage, Randy and Penny Kissinger; her sisters-in-law: Amie (Matt) Ras, Elizabeth (fiancée David Borchardt), Evelyn (Greg) Ondersma; her niece: Lily Ras; and her many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Alysha’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Thornapple Valley Church, 2750 S. M-43 Highway, Hastings, MI 49058, where her funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Pastor Matthew VanDongen officiating. Everyone is invited to a luncheon following the service.

Alysha loved color, so feel free to wear the brightest color you have. This is a celebration of her life.

In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to Kids’ Food Basket (where Alysha volunteered) or to the kiddos memorial fund below.

I, Marlene, am a close cousin of Alysha's mom, Wendy Taylor. I remember when Alysha joined the babies in our extended family. We saw each other's families several times over the years as she and her brother, Brent, were growing up. As far as I remember, we have not seen Alysha since she was a young adult. At that time she and her mom stayed in our home in Toronto for a few nights while she was undergoing medical tests.
Alysha's parents told us of her marriage to Jon and her move to Michigan. They expressed their great joy when each grandchild was born and they loved having them come for visits to their home in Windsor. We have learned from Glenn and Wendy and the tributes already given of her loving, kind and generous nature in the care of her family and those around her. We are asking God to show his grace and mercy to Jon and each of the children, Micah, Noah, Eden, and Ezra.
As we reflect on Alysha's life, we are reminded of the following verse from Revelation 14:13, And I heard a voice from heaven saying, "Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." "Blessed indeed," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!" (ESV).
Rudy and Marlene Wiebe, Toronto.
