Vernon Freeman Erfourth, age 80 of Middleville, passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2019 in Newaygo. Vernon was born on September 3, 1938 in Rudyard, Michigan, to Cecil and Helmi (Koski) Erfourth. He proudly served his country in the US Army. Vernon retired in 1994 from United Airlines where he worked as a station agent for 32 years. A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle, RVing and being in nature. His first priority, though, was always his family. Vernon will be lovingly missed by his wife, Dorothy (Spalo) Erfourth; daughter, Val McCarty; son, James Erfourth; grandchildren, Thomas, Derek, Chris; brothers, Marvin Erfourth, David Erfourth; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Calvin. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Monday, June 10 from 7 to 9 P.M. at the Beeler-Gores Funeral Home in Middleville. A funeral service for Vernon will be held on Tuesday, June 11 at 11 AM at the Parmelee United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parmelee United Methodist Church.
