Kristina Navarro Carpenter, age 45, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. Kris was born on March 30, 1973 in Hastings to Juan and Rosa (Arreola) Navarro. Kris had an infectious, positive attitude which she shared while always aiming to help others. Always artistic, she loved to take pictures and scrapbook. Kris was a longtime member of the Fountain of Truth Apostolic Assembly Church in Orangeville. She enjoyed watching Disney movies, and could most often be seen wearing something with polka dots. Her family will fondly remember and live by her words, “always a home, not a house”. Everyone she met as a stranger became a friend. Her special voice and contagious laugh will be dearly missed by her family. Kris will be lovingly remembered by her son, TJ Carpenter; father, Juan Navarro; sisters, Sandra (Ernesto) Andrade, Rosalinda Navarro; TJ’s dad, Troy Carpenter; many dear nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Navarro, and her grandparents. Friends and relatives may meet with the family on Thursday, January 10, from 5 to 8 P.M at the Fountain of Truth Apostolic Assembly Church in Orangeville where a funeral service will be conducted on Friday, January 11, at 11 A.M. Burial will take place at Oakhill Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the American Heart Association will be appreciated.
