Ronald "Bruce" Baker, Sr., Age 76, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Plainwell Pines Nursing Home. Bruce was born July 17, 1942 in Battle Creek, Michigan to parents Earl and Jacqueline (Sowders) Baker. He graduated from Gull Lake High School in 1960. He has been married to his loving wife, Jacqueline for forty years and she survives him. Bruce was a Union Bricklayer by trade before his retirement. He ran his own masonry business from 1978 to 2002. He was a lifetime member of the Bedford Masonic Lodge and also a member of the Delton Moose Lodge 1649. For many years he was also a member of the Hickory Corners American Legion and Battle Creek/Albion Elks Lodge. Bruce made life-long friendships over the years, and loved spending time playing cards, horseshoes and golf. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed trips to northern Michigan snowmobiling with friends and family. He was a great dancer and had a talent for telling funny stories and jokes. Bruce is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, and sister, Shirley Weaver. He is also survived by his three daughters, Lori (Pete) Perez, Trena Johnson and Carla (Joseph) Fisher; and one son, Ronald Bruce Baker, Jr. Also surviving are his stepchildren, William (Ruth Ann) Beaty, Larry (Lori) Beaty, Cathy (Kim) Edwards and Karen (John) Loeffler. He had many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Jacqueline Baker, stepmother, Edith Baker and a brother-in-law, Robert Weaver. A luncheon and time of fellowship from 1 to 4 PM on Friday, January 11, 2019, at the Delton Moose Lodge #1649, 5420 Moose Lodge Drive, Delton, Michigan Bedford Masonic Lodge 207 will honor Bruce followed by Pastor Jeff Worden at 2:00 PM. Cremation has taken place and burial will be conducted at a later date at Cedar Creek Cemetery, Delton. Donations may be made in Bruce's honor to the Delton Moose Lodge.
