John Frederick Sare, 90, of Fine Lake, Michigan, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2018 at his home in Frost Proof, Florida.
John was preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Josephine; his first wife Dolores (Duba); brother, Donald; and son, Gerald. He is survived by his wife, Latricia; sons: Terrance (Polly), Dennis (Janie); daughters: Lynn, Kim (Jim); daughter-in-law, Sydney; and brother, Robert. They, along with his ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren will sadly miss him.
John was proud of his Canadian roots, serving his country in Japan, and his family. He was an insurance salesman, service station owner and worked for many years until his retirement at State Technical Institute as a recreational therapist. He was also a dedicated football coach for the Delton Panthers.
John loved all things water: sailing, canoeing, fishing, and swimming. He shared this passion with his loved ones at the family home on Fine Lake. A Sunday fish fry, telling stories, bonfires, working on tackle, and looking through the latest Ebay purchase were what he loved to do. He also enjoyed his time with friends in Florida playing cards and riding around in his Michigan golf cart.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home in Delton from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. John’s funeral service will be conducted at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Delton at 11:00 am on Friday, January 4, 2019.Memorial contributions in John’s honor may be made to Michigan Career and Technical Institute.
