Gorden Mourice Lyttle, age 76, of Hastings passed away peacefully December 1, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Gorden was born July 17, 1942 in Battle Creek, the son of Lloyd E. and Juanita M. (Jackson) Lyttle. A veteran, Gorden proudly served his country in the United States Army as a cook during the Vietnam War. Gorden was a loyal employee at Eaton Corporation for seventeen years, and he enjoyed attending reunions there for many years since. He was later employed as a truck driver at J-Ad Graphics for twenty three years. Gorden loved his animals, riding his golf cart, traveling, camping, watching westerns, and being warm. Gorden could make friends with anyone, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Gorden is survived by his loving wife, the former Calvena P. VanValkenburg; a son, Russell (Patricia) Lyttle; daughters: Kathy (John) Griffin, Ann (Bobby) Reuter, LouAnn Burke, and Tammy (Brett) Smith; a brother, Gerald Lyttle; a sister, Joan (Jack Sr.) Green; sixteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Gorden was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Gale Lyttle and Gary Lyttle; a sister, Joyce Patterson; and a grandson, Henry Lyttle. Gorden’s family will receive friends Tuesday, December 4, 2018, 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home where his funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Pastor Rick Foster, officiating. Burial with military honors will take place in Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Great Lakes Caring Hospice will be appreciated.
