Tina Marie Balow, age 40, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, January 24th, 2018.
Ms. Balow was born February 15th, 1977, in Berrien Center, MI, to William Balow and Carla Payne. She lived in Benton Harbor, Delton and Florida for much of her life, before moving to the Detroit area. Tina lived life to the fullest, and was a good and trusted friend to all who knew her. As the oldest sibling in a large family, Tina embraced her role as a big sister, and nurtured her younger brothers and sisters as they grew up; she would extend this nurturing nature beyond her family to the children in her life.
She is survived by her fiancé, John Woodson; mother, Carla (Gary) Payne; father, Bill (Carol) Balow; stepchildren Deontae, John, Audrey, Paige and Mia Woodson; step-grandchildren Tatiana, Layla, Peyton, Rayjohn, and Tayshawn; siblings, Becky (Wayne) Wagner, Tara Holroyd, Cassie (Dan) Granger, Jolene Payne, Andrea (Joey) Guerin, John (Ryan) Payne, Tyler (Elizabeth) Payne; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold Balow, Don and Betti Lefor, Harry and Donna Miltibarger, and Mae Shaw; uncles, Harold “Jim” Miltibarger, and Alan Wilbur; her cousin, Brandon Reents; and her stepson, Quayshawn Henry.
Tina’s family will receive friends Thursday, February 1, 2018, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home where her memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Pastor Jeff Worden, officiating.
